Fifty million people, including nearly 300,000 children, live with arthritis, a category of disease with dozens of variations. Psoriatic arthritis packs a one-two punch: psoriasis, an autoimmune disease that causes build-up of skin cells that are often itchy and red; and in about 30 percent of sufferers, the development of arthritis.
