Provider status is back in the running early this year, as the bipartisan bill, Pharmacy and Medically Underserved Areas Enhancement Act, S.109, was reintroduced this week by Sens. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), Bob Casey (D-Penn.), and Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio). It’s a fitting tribute to the profession (we hope you got some extra love this week on National Pharmacist Day) and recognizes the impact of pharmacy on care, particularly in communities underserved by primary care physicians.
