Federal, state, and local health officials met last week in Atlanta as the Zika virus increases its reach into North America. As of the end of March, 312 cases have been reported, all of which were travel-related, but story seems to change almost daily at this point, and the CDC continues to study alternative paths of transmission. The World Health Organization provides situation reports here and we found some background from the folks who have had to deal with the virus for a lot longer than we. Last week we noted Anthem’s sharp poke at existing pricing structures and have been watching for updates as the ongoing saga unfolds. But New York isn’t the only game in town. Significant calls for leadership on the issue at the national level are in the works, too. We think you’ll love this video of Rep. Doug Collins (R-Georgia) pushing for the reintroduction of the MAC Transparency Act. (As our colleagues at IPCN so aptly put it this week: You might just want to give him a cape.)
